Western Flyer Xpress Races to 75,000-Mile Oil Drain Interval with CITGARD 700 SAE 10W-30
Challenge
Western Flyer Xpress has a large fleet consisting of 1,000 trucks and 3,000 trailers that regularly travel across the contiguous United States. They want to extend their oil drain intervals so they can service their equipment at their terminal locations. Hampel Oil Distributors Inc. proposed upgrading to a premium synthetic blend engine oil that delivers the performance needed for newer engine designs while improving performance in older engines.
Solution
CITGO Lubricants Specialists partnered with Hampel Oil Distributors, Inc. to recommend CITGARD® 700 Synthetic Blend Heavy Duty Engine Oil SAE 10W-30. This heavy-duty engine oil is engineered with a proprietary additive technology that protects engines running at higher operating temperatures and fuel injection pressures while meeting tighter wear limits and lower emission requirements. The SAE 10W-30 viscosity grade assists in attaining the new Phase II fuel efficiency standards by improving fuel economy, increasing cold start-up lubrication and providing superior engine durability.
Outcome
Before using CITGARD 700 SAE 10W-30, WFX's oil drain interval reached 40 to 50,000 miles. Once they made the switch, they were able to safely extend to their desired goal of 75,000 miles. This ensured they could service their fleets at any of their managed locations.
