Automotive Lubricants

Automotive lubricants are used to reduce friction, prevent corrosion as well as wear and tear. Lubricants typically consist of base oils and a variety of additives to enhance their attributes. Lubrication is very important in all mechanical devices to stop the adverse effects of friction. The thin layer of lubricant between metals in your automobile prevents the metals from touching, which can cause wear and high temperatures. Oils with a low viscosity are becoming the standards for automotive engines. These oils provide engine protection and better fuel economy. A well-lubricated engine has a higher efficiency, resulting in the use of less fuel. Always follow the oil viscosity and specification recommendations in your owner's manual.
