CITGARD CASE STUDY

Brundage-Bone Saves 2.5% in Fuel Cost After Switching to CITGARD 700 10W-30 Synthetic Blend Heavy Duty Engine Oil

Challenge
Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping is the largest concrete pumping and material placement service in the United States. Fuel cost is one of their largest operational expenses. The CITGO team proposed switching to a lower viscosity, heavy duty engine oil (HDEO) to help lower those fuel costs, extend oil drain intervals and improve their maintenance practice.

Solutions
CITGO lubricant experts and engineers shared insights on advancements in low viscosity HDEOs. CITGO has a range of low viscosity heavy-duty engine oils to help fleets attain their maintenance goals. Low viscosity heavy duty engine oils are proven to increase fuel economy, improve engine cleanliness and durability. Test results also prove they can help extend oil drain intervals. With in-depth equipment/application analysis, users can make the right decision on what product can help them reach their goals.

Armed with data on the latest industry trends and forecasts on lubricant technologies, Brundage-Bone confidently made the switch to CITGARD 700 10W-30 Synthetic Blend Heavy Duty Engine oil, engineered for fuel efficiency, improved engine performance in both new and older engines.

Outcome
Six months after the switch, Brundage-Bone had its third-party telematics provider conduct an independent analysis of its fleet data. The data proved that switching to CITGARD 700 10W-30 resulted in a 2-2.5% savings in fuel costs*. Following further consultations with the CITGO technical team, Brundage-Bone switched its lubricant portfolio over to the CITGO brand.

“Our relationship with CITGO has definitely grown from a commodity supplier to a partnership footing, which is a contrast from what we experienced before,” said Mark Young, General Manager at Brundage-Bone. “The CITGO team has been very helpful; navigating us through the challenges that can come with switching vendors and product lines. Our company representatives are confident knowing there is a team of people dedicated to supporting them – and us – very well.”
